Centec ap1

Thinking of fitting one of these to my 1200gs. Read somewhere that they recomend 12 gauge wire to connect up the box to the supply. Would that be US twelve gauge or standard ..there is a difference. US 12 is about 3.3sqmm
so I reckon about 40amps..I think the standard one is bigger so it could be 60 amp which is what the box is rated at. I was thinking of fitting less than that cos cant see me using all that ampage even wid lights gps and stuff.
Those of u who have fitted one of these what size wire have you fitted.
?.60 amps just seems a hell of a load to me.

get the centec relay kit as well. It comes with all the correct gauge cables ready crimped into the relay plug so all you have to do is decide where to route them and cut to length. See attached pics already posted in the 1200 section.

Correct......the relay is what makes the Centech AP1 ignition switchable.....and all the correct cables are included with it. No cables are included with the AP1.

Thanks for the pics all. Now I know the best place to put everything.
The reason I asked about the cable was that I was gonna buy an auto relay from Maplins and wire it in myself. I've got access to plenty of cable, crimps,
connectors and heatshrink just wanted to sus out the size of cable used.

Something tells me the crimps your likely to have arent good enough for the job!!!

Its LARGE cabling and you will require around 9mm bore crimps with spade connectors to get onto the relay unless you use a threaded relay istead of a spade'd one.

Even then you need soldered ring terminals on the end.
