Centre Stand in the grass

I'm off to the BSB at croft at the w/e.

I think you need to park the bike on grass.

So, what's the best thing to put under the c/stand to stop it sinking in to the grass?

A Marshall.

Pass your lock around his neck and attach to the subframe.

Make sure he has a strong enough rib cage though.....you wouldn't want to get goo on your bike.

Isn't there some sort of foot extension that you can have welded on like you can get for the side stand...

On grass I use the sidestand and the only modification is an Ice hockey puck bolted to the underside, seems to work ok for me, mainstands on grass are a nightmare and if you take time to make a nice little wooden plate to sit the bike on you have the hassle of trying to get the mainstand aligned with the plate, and the annoyance of watching it slide slowly off.....

I'll go with all the sensible replies (Fanum? ) and park it on the sidestand, preferably with some kind of block to sure it up a bit and stop it sinking.

Use the sidestand and a lump or rock or crushed coke can or inveast ina proper "Puck"....

Me too. Been using one for 3 years, and it has the added bonus of reducing the "lean" after fitting Ohlins shocks.

Yes but not so good when you have panniers and a tent and gear on the back and the road has quite a camber and it is outside your house and you are facing the wrong way and the neighbours are watching and you end up throwing yourself off the left whilst holding onto the left bar at the same time pulling and praying and hoping nobody realises what might be about to happen.

Not that I ever did such a thing of course.... Well not twice anyway.

I know it's a bit late but I just use one of the cheapo plastic side stand thingies that my mate gets on the front of his power ranger mobiles mag from time to time.
Only modification is to drill a hole in it and tie a long boot lace through the hole.
This way when you pull up you can drop the puck onto the floor (holding onto other end of boot lace), push into place with foot and lower bike onto it.
Tie the loose end of the lace around handle bar and when you come back you can just get on bike and pull puck up without having to lean over.

I was laughed at on a camping trip when a mate saw me tie the boot lace up but he soon wanted one when the bikes were fully loaded the next morning and he had to try and pick his up.
