The stand fitted to my bike looks extraordinary. It has massive “feet”. Are there any “issues” with the sw motech stand which looks far more compact, with dainty feet

That massive foot/arm makes it a doddle to pull up onto the stand! I have not found that it gets in the way at all. Having said that I can’ comment on the Sw Motech stand.
Not sure what your concern is here. The OE stand doesn't look odd to me. Do you mean the feet on the two legs of the stand, or the arm which you use with your foot to operate the stand?
Legs, arms whatever. Yes it is functional and east to use. I suspect i can get over the apoearance and just buy new springs to stop it flopping
