Morning all,
The centre stand on my 18 plate 1200gsa is looking very shabby and I’d like to remove it, get it blasted and powder coated. I did the same on my last bike and had a nightmare removing and replacing the return springs. Does anyone have a technique/knack for getting them off/on. I fabricated a t-bar to pull them off last time and found I’d wasted my time as I wasn’t strong enough to budge them.
All advice appreciated.

I have done this job... I followed Cymbeline Bike Parts YouTube video on exactly how to do this. Takes a bit of time but well worth it. Link below. https://youtu.be/mEZBKJmnZUA

:bow:bow:bow. That is the most perfectest fix I’ve ever seen. Very many thanks, that’ll save so much knuckle skin.

I made a loop with a wire hanger and used a rachet strap from the rear wheel

I tried a similar approach last time and although it worked, it took ages to manoeuvre the spring assembly back on to the nipple whilst under great tension and resulted in significant spanner rash.
