I'm about to get my DRZ exhaust done and was wondering how well does Ceramic coating deal with;

1. slight pitting from surface rust?
2. light scratches?

I've took all the paint and rust off but its never going to be the same as a new one. As the ceramic coating will be £100 I want it to last.

Also, how hot (relative) does it get. Is it a case of it gets to the same temperature only it takes longer to do so?

I had my VFR downpipes and collector coated with Cermakrome by Camcoat recently. I'm a bit disappointed in the finish but that's down to the state of the pipes before they were coated. Camcoat blasted them and even welded up a small hole but the finish on the front downpipes is a bit rough.

I think if you're looking for an "as new" finish, the coating should ideally be applied to a new set of pipes. Having said that, I found Camcoat to be very helpful and a good company to deal with except for the fact that they use bloody City Link as a courier.

You could take a look here. I've not used them, but I am thinking of going down the ceramic coating route myself.
