First - big thanks to lunchbox for pushing this issue so hard with BMW, CZ, VOSA and others. It really looks like this wouldn't have got sorted without him and those like him who did the letter writing legwork.

Rang up BMW Motorrad Bristol today to book in for a service. Got it booked in, then 5 minutes later Mike rang me back to say that it had a recall for the chain & sprockets "because they're crap" , so they'd need to have it in for a bit longer. Which was fine by me.
Prior to this, I had not had anything through the post , still haven't . Seems very odd that something as serious as a snapping chain recall is being done on an "as and when" basis.
So what is the general opinion on the new replacement chains? Still a bit rubbish, but not completely rubbish?
