I first posted this on general, but now I am happy to report that having built a kind of 4 poster bed over my 1150GS and suspended rear frame, front forks and jack under the engine, I have at last, despite the myriad electrics and wiring bits managed to separate gearbox from engine!
In fact the gearbox drve shaft rear wheel brake and shock absorber all was wheeled back as one great lum on a trolley without,I might add, bending the clutch pushrod. Well its only taken me sixx weeks, now its time to remove the engine then split it!
My question is - in the Clymer manual they show a box for the engine to sit in on the bench - but dont give any dims. I assume its to fit the sort of square sump? does anyone have any dims or a better solution as \I read that the engine is top heavy!
I only had the bike 3 months when this happened so the sunny weather has spurred me on to get finished!
