Any recommendations for heavy duty chain locks and alarmed / non alarmed disc locks?

Need to stop those thieving fekkers getting my new bike...

Datatool Python lock and chain is a nice big chain...about £100...it also has a cover around it so that you don't scratch your lovely wheels/paintwork.

Datatool do a Fortress ground anchor...about £40.

Datatool also do a Devil 1000 disc lock...about £30...nice bit of kit too...just make sure that you buy a 'forget-me-not' cable to attach between it and your throttle!

Have a look at the Datatool website.

forget disc locks, only usefull for short stops, can be removed too easily

but the more you have the longer it will take:nenau

get as many locks, chains, alarms as you can, pain to do em up, undoo etc but if its a pain for you it will be for them.....

few years ago scum tried to get mine, they got through 2 garage doors, 7 locks, 2 alarms, then was faced with shit load of bike locks, so gave up....

rozzers said that if there were any less locks etc then my bikes would be gone.

just a thought, i was recommended garden mortars too.

as long as kids/animals were not in the garden when armed, thought about it, and found a web site for them, quite cheap too (thought they could be a right laugh if nothing else but bottled it!!)

Interesting point.

So how come they are easily removed?

Is it a case of lock being picked, in which case it depends on lock quality.

Or is it a case or remove wheel, remove disc, put wheel back on.

As the bike is not that heavy make sure you chain it to something solid otherwise they will just drag it out of the garage chains and all.

Feckin right they can :mad::mad::mad:

I had (past tense) a 350LC. I left it outside the pub. The steering lock was on, I had attached a disc lock and a massive ABUS U bolt lock through the rear wheel and swing arm.
I was the first in the pub, so no one was outside in the car park.
Four blokes in a Transit had backed up, opened the back doors, dived out, lifted the bike up, in the tranny and fecked off in under 10 seconds.

I now use a long chain, wrapped around summat immovable, and kept off the floor so they can't sledgehammer it against the ground!

And still live in hope that the bike's still there when I get back :(
