I fitted these plugs about a month ago and after a fair bit of testing, I thought it was time to spread the word! - THESE PLUGS ARE THE BUSINESS!! - IMHO?
My '01 1150 single spark has never suffered from surging, but it did, at times, have a tendency to "pink" under heavy acceleration when using the original NGK's - and even worse using Bosch. The problem almost disappears with new plugs but eventually return as the miles passed.
I've never been a fan of the multi-electrode plugs, I think they shroud the spark too much and make the problems their meant to help even worse?. Because of this I decided to try a set of Champion RC9Y's as recommended by many, but when in Halfords I found Champion now had this range of EON plugs.
These plugs look quite normal but, in fact, one "size" ie the EON 2 in the case of the 1150gs, supercedes a huge range of plugs from fairly "hot" plugs to "cold" plugs and as you've to set the gap at 0.95mm if I remember correctly, you get a BIG FAT SPARK.
Champion claim they give better acceleration etc - well they would!!
Anyway, after fitting these I noticed a difference straight away - even from a cold start the engine runs sweeter and hard acceleration in low or high gears is vastly improved with absolutely no hesitation or hint of "pinking". You can almost "feel" the better burn in the cylinders!
If anybody is looking to try a different plug I would recommend these - in fact it would be interesting to get feed back from anybody who fits them, or has already fitted them, to see if their impressions are as positive as mine??
Must be worth ago? the Brisk plugs seem to get mixed reviews? so here's another option, I think they were about £19 for a pack of FOUR from Halfords.
