Just had my first service on the 1200SE and a great service it was !! Free Adventure for 2 days and all went very well .Fitted the Vario top box and its running even better:thumb2 I have been impressed with the level of service and the communication given from these guys ,well worth a trip if your in Brighton ,and even further afield, they go the extra mile as far as customer care is concerned ,so well done chaps:thumb2

Chandlers

Free loan bike, that's intresting Vines now charge £25.?

+1

Brought a 12 from them at the beginning of the season, and I can concur with Robbo that they have been nothing by professional in their service. I also brought some panniers and racks from "Klanky" for madames 650(twin) and managed to totally cock up the fitting. Half an hours labour and all was well - they even changed over the locks for free!!!. Brilliant :clap:clap:clap

Some of the dealers have had some real jip from this site, and I suspect well deserved, but the effort these guys put into their customer service is well worth noting and supporting.

I'm gutted about the free loaner! I used to have to go up to SLM for a service and pay for the privilege of a loan bike. I now have Chandlers almost on my doorstep and they're dishing them out for free!

+1 for Chandlers service though, it really is second to none. :thumb2:thumb2

Hang on!
They charged me £15 for the loan bike :nenau

Sounds like they make it up as they go along, unless of course your own insurance covered the loan bike as well as your own?

It shows on my invoice as "Loan bike hire and Insurance charge" £15 +vat!

On a different note.
Recently had an email from Chandlers stating that they are now an alpinestars rider equipment dealer.

Being interested in a pair of tech 7s or maybe tech3s I duly pop in there to view the vast array of new shiny merchandise.:drool

What do I find (or not find as the case may be cos it took me a few moments), 1 style of glove (£130), I race style boot in black (every size though so they're obviously all the rage!) and 1 style of jacket (predictably black), not really an alpinestars stockist then.

Twat suits are reduced and on some kind of clearance rail and then the reason why struck me. BuMW are soon to launch their jap replica sports bike and the showroom is evolving to reflect that. it won't be long before GS & GSA owners will be required to leave their dirty boots at the door whilst knee sliders become the order of the day.

Always had good service from Chandlers but this visit, I wasn't even acknowledged, had a good look around and left without even a hello, poor show. Mind you I arrived on a GSA wearing a twat suit, so I've only got myself to blame. :blast

Hi Anonymous, sorry you have not had the best experience at Chandlers Bikes.

To cover off your concerns:

We are currently having some staffing difficulties which we are dealing with but appoligies that you were not greeted at the dealership.

Previous posts state we do free loan bikes, this is incorrect but the charge is a reasonable £15 per day.

As for our Alpinestars stock, we have limited space at present and to be honest we are focusing this range for the S1000RR, next year we will review the level of interest and stock accordingly. In the meantime if there is something from the range anyone wants, we can order it in for them.

As for coming in on a GSA, not a problem. I am currently riding a GSA, fantastic bike.

Sorry to waffle on; we look forward to seeing you in the showroom on your next visit.

It's not our problem if you want to sack your staff, was a good team !!

Time for a new dealer me thinks. In fact just bought a HP2s from one.

P.S £15 for a loan bike is a rip off.

Chandlers is damn good. The whole of the dealership tries hard. I am very happy they are just a mile up the road from me.

cannon at braintree charged me £10.00 for the loan bike, they should be free,

a courtesy bike hmmmmmmm

the word courtesy

(n.) An act of civility or respect; an act of kindness or favor performed with politeness

charge us

Thank you for addressing my concerns, I really do wish you all the luck with your staffing difficulties, this is still a young dealership and the opportunity is there to become a great one with the right team.

As I said, I have previously had good service and you taking the time and interest to reply on here restores my faith, so I will put this down to a one off and look forward to my next visit :thumb

Out of interest, what staff are you looking for as there maybe some folks on here who maybe interested, or know others who could be?

You know how someone always has the life you want? Well I had that confirmed today when I met my old mate Emmet Reidy, who I hadn't seen for 8yrs, at the Ace Cafe today. He saw the light and left the City to ride the Globebusters Trans America on his 1150GSA and then went to work for BMW. He's now "the man" at Chandlers and remains an all round top bloke and true GSer. Here is someone who has found a hobby linked career and getting paid for it too!

I'm sure he will make Chandlers a cracking dealership.

That's funny - I was watching the DVD last night and thought that Emmet seemed a nice down to earth person.
