It seems that AXA have made some significant changes to my annual policy through the Coop Bank. End Supplier Failure no longer covered. That’ll be more telephoning around needed.

It rarely covers any medical conditions anyway. So I always have to buy a better policy for trips. Currently have an annual CN policy.

it's an Axa policy and they generally cover motorcycling

as for these changes, the blurb already states that there is existing cover for airlines, ferries, package holidays and other regulated services.

As for other stuff like hotels and car hire booked direct, if the amount is over £100 you have statutory S75 cover via a credit card. For amounts under £100 you can ask your card provider, debit or credit card, to issue a charge back under their T&C. Bear in mind, an amount under £100 was probably not recoverable from the Axa policy under the old T&C as it would be under the policy excess.

There is a simple rule, when booking travel stuff in advance, if you have to pay up front, use a credit card.

In summary, these changes are not of any great significance and I would not worry about it.

But as it doesn’t cover my medical conditions it’s not much use anyway. Not like they’re that serious, Thyroid, High Blood pressure and supposedly high colesterole, all of which are medicated and regularly checked. But they want a kings ransom to add these so it’s way cheaper to just buy a whole policy from CN.
It’s barely worth paying the £15.50 for the coop account these days, however the RAC cover has worked both times it was needed, including recovering Motorhome and Biketrailer home from Newark when the brakes failed a few summers back. Took them all day, but we did get home for no charge. So probably is just worth it, as it does include Europe which costs quite a bit more to add to a normal rac policy.

It is a fair point, I need to call them as I have to pay an additional premium to cover my medical conditions. Something else to ponder!

it all depends on a few factors such as the number of eligible people in the home, relevance of the bundled policies for gadgets, age of your vehicles and any additional premium for medical stuff

personally, for the medical reasons mentioned, these bundled bank accounts & policies do not work for me. Just me to insure for travel and breakdown and separate policies cost me about £100 all in. Allclear for annual travel in Europe and LV Britannia for bike breakdown in Europe and personal in UK.

Good advice.

The same applies to buying just about anything. The credit card companies may well be draconian when you owe them money. The upside is that they are often just as aggressive to a supplier when your purchase goes tits up.
