I bought two new 'blue' bulbs for the dipped and main beam lights and fitted them today.

The side light now looks a bit yellow in comparison and as I have a couple of blue bulbs which might do the job, I thought I would take out the sidelight bulb to see what it was.

That was the problem, I can't see properly to get the bulb out. What's the secret and what type of bulb is it anyway?

If you have a 1200 I know what you mean. I had the same trouble after upgrading to HID and wanting to change the parking light colour.

What worked for me - There is a gap just big enough for some long nosed pliers, on the left side of the bike by the front indicator and the headlight.

If you use a torch as well this helps!

You are looking for a loop of wire ending in a rubber stopper just above the oil cooler - it should be covered in the black insulation wrap but you should still be able to see a blue/grey and a brown wire. going to it.

Careful how you pull and only pull the rubber stopper and not he wires for obvious reasons.

I could just get into the rubber but it didn't want to budge, will have another go when the bike comes back from the dealer. - it's getting a replacement centre stand and they are going to plug it into the computer, to tell the bike that it is now fitted with a BMW alarm!

I have a blue bulb that fits as well.

Thanks for the info!:thumb2

It's where he says but you can just reach down and pull the rubber cap off. I swapped to a blue(ish) bulb only last week.
