I am thinking about lowering my GSA. How easy is it to fit new springs? I was looking at Hyperpros that lower by 40 mm. Any advice on how to or how much to get done gratefully received.

Not sure how to do the springs but you will need a GS centre and side stand....possibly even the short GS versions if you are going down 40mm, worth checking with a dealer on that one.

If you are lowering 40 mm you will get away with the center stand but will need to shorten the side stand.
Easy job to change the springs but you will need a good press for the rear spring and make up an adapter to compress the collar.
I have not seen any automotive type spring compressors that will fit these springs.
We fitted hyperpro springs to my mates 08 GSA dropped 40mm so he has been able to go back to standard height seat.
He found the low seats were to hard.

Thanks for that, Thats the reason Im doing it, how long did it take? Im a bit short of presses but not a million miles from Grantham ;-)

Bit heath robinson but I have always been able to swap springs on my KTMs using a bench vice and rachet straps!

I bought Hyperpro springs from Calsport in Birmingham a couple of years ago. I took the shocks along to them and they changed the springs for me no problem.

If you want to pull the shocks off the bike and drop them in to me with the new springs I can swap them over for the next day.

Cheers for that, im moving house shortly so it will be a little while.

Your welcome,
I am about to go for a ride to Morocco, so trying to catch up with work load before I go.
So that suits me. :beerjug:
