Hello chaps,

I've got to change a couple of brake lines on the Merc truck camper I'm converting.

The pneumatic lines are nylon which push fit over the serated (annular ring type) fittings.

The old nylon is pretty stiff now and will have to be cut or heated to remove. Anybody know how the new lines should be fitted - are they heated in warm water or lubricated in any way (yes I know about oil and air - I mean washing up liquid type stuff) :nenau

Please don't guess if you you are unsure

Cheers:thumb

If it is a push fit over a barbed fitting without a retaining oversleeve, it is imperitive that you match the ID, wall thickness & durometer to the design/size requirements of the fitting.... Normally you can get this info from the fitting manufacturer. If unobtainable you can do one of two things, buy new fittings from a known manufacturer who can supply support data. Or.... critically size the existing nylon tubing, although the durometer would be a guess, as the tube hardens with UV exposure....:nenau
