Charger for my 54 plate 1200gs

As above, i'm looking for a battery charger that will work with the aux port on the left side under the seat. I have an optimate which i ran in my Daytona 675 which was wired directly to the battery but after reading some of the search results am slightly confused.

Can I use the optimate with a aux plug fitted or is there a recomended charger for the GS.

I just wired the Optimate straight into the battery and dangled the lead out near the accessory socket. I avoided the accessory socket chargers.

.....My optimate is wired straight to the battery too. Simple and no faffing with problems in the canbus and auxillary plugs .....
