I did a search on the forums but could not find anything. I have an Ipag 1940 that runs Tom Tom but the battery life is pretty short, could anyone tell me how (if possible) to charge the Ipaq when I go on a trip (R850GS - 2000)

Thanks
JC

i had mine for music and had a cigarette type charger plugged in to a socket mounted at the front

Thanks for that, I am going to be a pain but do you have a direct link where I could buy one, did you connect to the battery directly? Sorry about all the questions but I am a complete noob with that stuff. Thanks

I connected the car accessory socket from the battery with a fuse and an in-line switch up near the headstock.
the the car accessory socket was one of the 3 output ones from lidl at £3.99 i cabled tied it on... with a few 4mm holes drilled in the base for drainage

the ipaq adaptor you can get off e-bay they are not fully waterproof but if your careful you'll be fine it only takes about an hour or so to leave the ipaq charged just unplug it in heavy downpours... i never had any problems with mine:)

Any of these should do the job.

Then either fit a 12v cigar socket or, if you have a BMW power socket, just get a lead to convert from the bmw to Cigar socket (something like this, I think) or connect a cigar socket direct to the battery with this.

Thanks Trebor and Tuned In, I will research how to connect things to the battery directly (I remember seeing a thread or two about it).

Thanks
JC :)
