Charging problem

I have a Creative Zen MP3 player battery life is approx Thirty hours.
I have power to the tank bag so i can charge it the move now i can charge it in the car but not on the bike it shuts down,to get it to work
i have to unplug it and switch on and it goes into reset and reload after a couple of minutes works normally.
Anyone know why it does this?

An idea..................

........do you plug it all in and then start the engine - the power supply would be interupted at the start - hence your problem.

OR

........do you start the engine and then plug it in to charge and it still cuts out - no idea what the problem is

It is connected to a centec fuse panel which is powered off the side lights via a relay so i always switch the lights on after starting.
