I've just booked to go to France by Eurotunnel. Leaving on the 22nd July, albeit after 22:00 and comig back at 10:00 on the 30th July is only £50 !!!

That's less than any short crossing ferry I could find and about a quarter of the price of a long crossing.

Booking through?

Where did you book this through? I'm looking to book for an August trip... be good to know through where exactly you got your awesome price???

cheers...

:D

I got this on the Eurotunnel website !!

I usually give it a try and find that it's way over the top but I read somewhere that they had reduced their prices to compete with Speedferries etc. and got a pleasant surprise when I checked the prices.

This will take you straight to the booking page.

Amazing Prices!!! You can now do France in 35 minutes on a bike for £48 a return!!
Is threre any reason anyone would choose going on the ferry with these prices and crossing time?

I booked a crossing in August - out on the 13th and returning on the 27th for £49!

Actually wanted to leave on the 14th and the cost £144 - for a change decided to read the small print and the conditions for the cheap fare are quite simple - you need to depart the UK after 17h00 and return from Callais before 11h00. This fare appears to be available any time of the year as well.

We will be leaving a day earlier than planned, the train leaves at 17h05! and staying over at the Abbeville Formule1 hotel which including breakfast will cost us +/- £22 - which will give as a full day on Sunday to get as far South as possible to reach the booked campsite in the pyrenees (spelling?) by Monday afternoon.

For us (210 miles to Dover) leaving the evening before is a great solution at a really good price.

Why did they not have these fares before?

I've just booked a crossing through www.ferrysavers.com - Dover/Calais Friday midday, back Sunday midday, bike and two people, £36.52. Bargain.

:thumb Great advantage is that you can stay as long as you like in France (no time limit unlike some companies...(did someone mention 'pirates'??) :D , tickets valid a year and you pay £10 if you need to amend a date.
Faster, cleaner than other ferries, quicker and nicer people too!

:spitfire (sadly their hot chocolate is still being made with hot water in a machine  ...)
