Virtually everything like this will be made in the far east these days anyway. How were the instructions on yours? Written as if English was the authors mother tongue or a poor translation?

The link I attached is the ones I ordered, I ordered them from that company, the only thing I did different was I went direct so I got it a bit cheaper, i did a little research to see how these worked, checking feed back and such,

Instructions very basic but easy to understand, not a lot to do other than pair with your items that was very easy,

I didn't understand the procedure for pairing the two units until I sat down and checked the instruction again.

If you decide to have a pair contact me I'll go though what I did, but I'm sure you will sus this well before I did

Thanks for all your input on this, much appreciated. We finally went for the 6Riders version. As there are only two of us on this trip, it will only connect 2 riders out of the potential 6 full group compliment at any one time, it should be sufficient. If there had been more coming on this trip we would have considered the same ones as you though there doesn't seem to be a UK based supplier. A bit of a punt as I am assuming that, the same as yours, it will allow interruption of music or sat nav on an incoming intercom call.

The seller, despite what the auction infers, looks like they are shipping from Malaysia to their office in the UK and then onward to me. If you read the text in sceptic mode no mention is made of the goods actually coming from the UK though they do say no import duties to pay. The receipt gives two addresses, one C/O an Air logistics company in Colnbrook, another for what looks like a light industrial unit 20 miles West of Kuala Lumpur. The address is the same as for a company called SolelyOnline. My bet is that they ship a consignment every few days to Colnbook where the goods get sent onward to UK buyers. The stated delivery times give support to that theory.

On a side note I'd be very interested to know the pin-out of the headset socket, wondering if I can make a 7pin din to 3.5mm 4 pole adapter to allow me to use my existing Autocom headset. Otherwise I'll be having to strip out the Autocom headset from my helmet, install the one for the 6Riders and then doing the reverse when back off our tour. Even better, wondering if it will connect to the Autocom main box directly 3.5mm 4 pole to 3.5mm 4 pole...

1st real on-the-road test for our 6Rider units today. Worked quite well, range was disappointing though I'm used to a decent PMR with an external antenna. Line of sight only in reality, a couple of hundred yards. OK for our purpose but, IMHO, ideally my buddy getting a functioning PMR set-up would have been far superior. Anyway, it is what it is. Money spent (not very much though) and departure a week from today nothing is going to change.

Volume seems reasonable, I could hear bike-to-bike comms at 75 without issue. I think my buddy needs to adjust his speaker position as he couldn't hear quite so well. Noise cancelling was reasonable, got some 'Termigoni music' when he gave it the berries but far better than the useless f4/Tribe combo we tried a few trips ago.

One surprise was my Garmin cutting in over the bike-to-bike with directions. Sort of useful but annoying at the same time. Buttons (for bike-to-bike and volume) are a bit fiddly to use on the side of my helmet, hopefully I'll get used to that. Ditched the included helmet mount/clamp for some 3M Dual Lock, brilliant stuff, makes the 'pod' secure and close fitting to my Arai. I did have to trim the mounting channels off the back but glad I took the plunge and did this.

As I expected I had to strip out my Autocom headset and install the one that came with the headset, not ideal as will have to reverse this once home again. For the trip I'll be leaving the Autocom and BTM 02 on the bike but have pulled the plug on the power for that for the time being as the BTM 02 was trying to pair with my Zumo taking precedence over the new Bluetooth headset. I'll take the Autocom headset in my luggage in case of BT headset failure as it takes up so little room.
