cheap reliable tyres?

You quote 2 locations in your profile. Where do you wish to purchase tyres? You might get some meaningful responses then. Do you want tyres for road use only or some level of off road use?

As a general rule, avoid motorcycle dealers and go to a tyre specialist.

http://www.blackcircles.com/bikes will give you some prices to aim for.

At this time of year, your choice will most likely be limited by stock so you'll have to ring around.

I'd be more interested in who sells unreliable tyres and who manufacturers them, and how they've managed to stay in business. :D

False Economy

Its false economy buying cheap tires they are the only thing between you and the floor.

It will cost a lot more to repair your bike should it all go wrong.

Sorry, I only buy unreliable - one got a puncture and they ALL always wear out - (and frequently expensive) tyres, so can't help.

I saw a part worn tyre on ebay the other day, perhaps that is an option for you for the short term, otherwise I reckon you'd be looking at about £200 for F & R, good luck.

For tyres in the NW of UK I use TST near to warrington (Risley) cheap and superb work. Free fitting to loose wheels and only £10 to take off bike. (I always take the wheels in) 100 quid fitted for my recent rear Trail Attack.

Maxxis - Been using their SportTouring tyres for years. Every bit as good as Pirelli / Metzeler / Michelin etc and less than 2/3 the price.

MAXXIS !! to be avoided at all costs. I wore a set out in 3300 miles on a Deauville. Not exactly a sports bike.
