I’m starting to get kit sorted for our Himalayas trip in July .
It’s recommended to take a sleeping bag for the few nights under canvas at altitude though bedding is provided .
So I’m debating whether to take my own sleeping bag .
Can someone recommend a reasonably priced bag that packs smallish and can deal with temperatures down to say 0 c ish
It won’t get used much after so don’t want to spend a fortune.

northface cats meow... you can get it to be left or right handed, optional extra's peapod goretex outer bag and inflating matt...

we had big insulating matts provided that seen more action than action man....

That'll work fine -

Use code....

youthaa

in discount box to get it at 37.40

Lot of bag for the money

I didn’t get to go last year
-but did buy a Snugpack jungle bag to take.
Very small and light 1 season as it were.
I had one before back in the day.
Planned on using it every night regardless of location.
Always comfy in my own stink !
😉

I plan on throwing any old tat on top of me if needed to keep warm if I finally get there in July !

People get sniffy about these bags but they are unbeatable value

Have a look at mountain warehouse. They do own brand sleeping bags which are good.

and get a fleecy liner too

don't cut corners on your sleeping kit , you will regret it.

0 deg ? it gets colder than that in the Alps . i wouldn't use that in the UK !

there is nothing worse than waking up shivering with cold .

@Arsey You will be in USA next week.

This is now an opportune time in advance, to use a VPN and have a look at REI.com and to check the USA North Face web site, 'on sale' section for each site.

[Edit: try also: backcountry.com/rc/camp-gear-on-sale ]

You can PM me for using an address here in case you don't want to use hotel address - or I can pick-up in store if REI (again, 'on sale' section). US prices most often are far better, even with sales tax.

Not disputing anything @Guru Gora says re: Decathlon.

But as @wheelnut says, it's often either/or at the cheaper (synthetic fill) end.

Down bags pack down small....and you have more adventures ahead!

PLUS: 'Mummy' bags can be a difficult adjustment for many sleepers unaccustomed to camping, so perhaps consider a wider bag...
