Cheapo Brake Discs from M&P

Anyone used these from M&P?

£50 delivered is a good price but I'm in the "buy cheap buy twice" camp, would love to know if anyone has put some serious miles on one?

Is it just possible

that they are being sold at an outrageous markup instead of an extortionate markup?
When I can buy 2 brake disks for any car for £25.00, why should I be extorted for motorcycle brake disks, even if they are some alloy that does not rust. With such a low weight, the cost implications of the alloy are negligible.

I recently needed a rear disc, Steptoe is showing sold out so i took the plunge and bought the cheapest one on ebay at £38,
next one was £50,thousand miles on it and have to say it seems great,good bite etc,
the manufacture looks spot on to the eye.

when you look at the amount of metal you get in a car disc for the money its easy to assume we are getting ripped off but I guess its a numbers game.

I recently replaced all 3 discs on my GSA 12 with Armstrong wavy versions.

Build quality is exceptional, and braking performance, thus far, has been superb.....I bought them from Simmi Performance & their service was also excellent....

I used some cheap discs from Zone Products in Coventry. It wasn't a GS, but the brakes were great and good saving over the brands.

Sadly they seem to no longer exist, but my point is you don't have to pay silly money.

Bollocks.
With modern manufacturing techniques, the mass production aspect is negligible, and does not bear any relation to the price differential. Thus £25 of two versus hundreds of pounds for two.

Bike brakes are thinner and lightweight so need to be heat treated to avoid warping. Car brakes are just machined cast iron.
But none of that justifies the silly costs of motorbike brake discs.
Bicycle discs are also thin light etc etc but are basically laser cut from stainless sheet and surface ground. Throw a mountain bike downhill and see what the brakes have to handle. They cope without warping.
