when you check the bolts on the lower bridge front wheel. check them yourselves , i dont trust dealers results. the setting is 25nm which is i think 18lb .mark across the bolt and keep an eye on it, BMW dont loctite so leave it clean and post your results.
HOWARD GODOLPHIN OF BMW SAID
"IN RELATION TO BOLTS COMING LOOSE,IF THEY WHERE TORQUED CORRECTLY AS DESCRIBED IN THE REPAIR MANUAL THEY WILL NOT COME LOOSE."

WELL SOMEBODY NEEDS TO SEND A MANUAL TO THE MANUFACTURER AND ALL THE DEALERS BECAUSE THERE ARE QUITE A FEW LOOSE OUT THERE.

AND DONT RELY ON DEALERS ,I ASKED IF THE BOLTS WHERE TESTED ON THE 6000 MILE SERVICE A WEEK BEFORE THE CRASH THEY SAID NO ITS NOT PART OF THE SERVICE.

Is there any more unexplained accidents out there on 1200gs's?
i have a feeling that there has been accidents caused by handling problems but the riders have simply put it down to driver error.

the tech . at A Jefferies bmw dealer said he had never heard of these bolts coming loose . maybe he's been on the sick for the past 18 months.
