CHIGEE: Recommended and useful apps that work with Apple CarPlay

Feel free to list your choice of apps that do integrate well into Apple CarPlay system in conjunction with Chigee or Carpuride Systems

As a proud owner of CHIGEE AIO-5 Play and keen Apple CarPlay user, I am always on a lookout for apps that integrate well into the system, especially something that would be handy to have on a bike tour or otherwise.

Post your suggestions below.

I have been watching Andy B Cole' Youtube Chanel for a few year now.
His Chanel is of nothing special, if a bit of a piss taking out of his longtime mate Dave Truman. Nothing new there then, we all take piss out of each other on here (without ever meeting face to face) too.

Anyhow Andy has uploaded a new video recently, of unpacking his CHIGEE AIO-5 BMW mount variant. Following by this short video of his favourite apps that he does use on his bike and that integrate well with Apple CarPlay system. These might be different to your choices, so that makes us all different.

The weather apps that he's recommending are great, If anybody has ever used Garmin XT, you will know that it has a built-in weather app, which does come in handy if you wan to see what the wet weather doing up ahead.

Fellow on YouTube has been pleased with his experience, so it seem to work.

I get notifications from Apple Weather app of any rain due in ‘X’ amount of minutes that will last ‘X’ amount of time. It is quite accurate, but does not work on Apple CarPlay.

Must admit I look at the weather forecast before setting off and that’s it .Cant be arsed with minute by minute updates . It’s a bike trip FFS

But it is also nice to see what the cloud on the horizon might be doing any minute now. All this pulling over lark is just such a faff a.

I know this states Carplay but I believe the Chigee also works with Android Auto? If you have music on your Android phone try Musicolet music player works on Android Auto. Its free and no ads. I keep music on my phone in case I'm out off service for Spotify or just want to listen to some of my own ripped Albums. Tried it extensively in the car and the odd time on the bike (not a big fan of music in my helmet on the bike for some reason) it works very well. Sorry I don't believe its available for IOS

Regularly I use

MyRouteApp
Waze
Spotify Premium
TomTom Go App with offline maps
BBC Sounds
Apple Maps (Which have improved massively in recent updates)

Other than that, not much else really, MRA and Spotify are the two I hammer, as Spotify premium now includes Audiobooks along with podcasts etc, so last little trip round France for a few thousand miles I was able to enjoy the ride, follow my routes, and catchup on my "reading"

I find the Apple Music player poor if you like listening to albums. At least the latest iteration does play and shuffle albums but this app is very good:

Also what3words for pinpoint navigation
