For Sale Childrens Islabikes - Christmas presents ..?

Now that three quarters of my grandchildren have grown up I have a few Islabikes for sale.

If you haven't heard of them, Islabikes was started by Isla Rowntree who was on a mission to provide high quality, lightweight and very durable bikes for children all at a reasonable cost.

We have bought these for all the grandchildren over the years, and have kept some for the very young ones to grow into, so these are surplus to requirements.

These bikes have really given the children a superb headstart, and they have particularly appreciated the ease of handling due to the lightweight frame and quality components. They have progressed from the Rothan balance bike right through to the Beinn 26. The only downside is that they now will only countenance a lightweight adult bike ..!

Islabike have stopped actually producing bikes, but they do still offer a very comprehensive spares website. If interested, you may like to Google Islabikes to see the sizing guidelines.

The bikes are:

Beinn 26 - £310
Beinn 26s - £300
Beinn 20 - £275
Cnoc 16 - £225

The numbers in the name refer to the wheel size.

I'm near Felixstowe in Suffolk, and pick up would be much preferred, although I would be willing to meet up at a reasonable distance.

Have a bump, these are brilliant kids bikes being so light. All of the parts used are actually generic bike bits anyway so the fact that Isla bike has stopped producing them is irrelevant. IMO they are better than frog bikes as they are lighter and that's what counts. If you want a bit more off road bias chuck some chunkier tyres on.

Thanks very much for your endorsements Pigglet and MikeS - you are correct, they really are superb childrens bikes, and I should have said that all of them are in excellent used condition and have been well looked after.

I am open to quite near offers, and if someone wants all of them I'm sure that we can come to a mutual accommodation ...

As you can imagine, these bikes are taking up quite a bit of room which we really would like to reclaim.

You will find similar bikes both cheaper, and more expensive, but the fact that you can't buy them new anymore does mean they hold their value quite well.

Open to reasonable offers ...
