So, I've got the luxury of sodding off on the GS from next Thursday (landing in Rotterdam Thursday morning) until the following Monday evening when I must be in Bielefeld.
I found my great cousin's grave site on the CWGC website, just outside of Padua in Italy. So, I can leather it down from Holland, all the way to Milan, visit our Fred's grave, then go East into Austria, turning North to Munich, then on to Bielefeld, but this means just riding and riding for 4 days, 2 to get there, 2 to get back, with one day in Milan as a Brucie Bonus.
OR.....I can chill and visit Normandy for a bimble round the D Day sites.
OR....Has anyone got any decent ideas for the road less travelled when it comes to battlefield sites and the like?
I already spent 10 days around Ypres, Passchendaele and Vimy last year, so am looking for something different to do.
All suggestions considered.
