test road a gs1200 at mills sunderland, came back with a grin from ear to ear, test road a pan at stockton very nice, comfy, lots of protection.
I want to start touring round europe and have heard horror stories about both bikes. pan throws riders off, gs shaft brakes

and go with what you like best.... apart for the tour what else are you gonna do on the bike the rest of the year?

don't discount the older GS's ;)

Welcome to site Haboo :beerjug:

At 6'3" and 17st I find the GS to be a perfect bike for me (05 1150 Adv).

Just down the road from you in sunny Stockton. :thumb

Hi haboo,

Welcome to the site. :thumb

Go through the Post's in the 1200 section of this site and see what people have to say. :rob

I have a 1200 and love it. :D But you will also find guys who say that they have had nothing but problems. :nenau

As for the older Bikes, I have only read good things about the 1100s and for the most part, the 1150s as well.

DECIDED, its going to be the GS1200 ADVETURA
Went to Alan Jeffries on Friday, my wife and I were made very welcome, the staff were very pleasant, and even though I did not have my licence with me, I was given a test ride on the adventure and that was it, I’m hooked.

No bikes until Ocotober’ish but that will give me time to do some leg stretching, so I can get my leg over the seat without looking like a demented gorilla.
I am going for the whole hog, spotlights, computer, and every thing else.
Hope to meet some of you in the near future. Cheers

Welcome mate :beerjug: and an excellent choice :thumb keep us informed of your experiences once up and running on the 1200GS Adv.
