Was around Drogheda / Dundalk area yesterday but never made it to ClogherheadLovely sup of chowder served with a slice of brown bread in the clogherhead port oriel pier, fresh fish shop.
Good man Pete, where & when ?Chowder dash.

And very good it was tooJockser is the king of the chowder, to the extent that he rode from Kildare to Monks in Kinvara just for a bowl of fishy soup on Lá Feile na Padraig. That's dedication for you.

That's a good shout actually, as soon as I can afford the Nav V I'll look into it. (Winter is coming...)
And Westlodge Hotel in Bantry has the worst !
Their 'seafood' chowder consisted of chunks of salmon & a smoked fish. Not a single mussel. In Bantry, the home of the mussel![]()
Instead of going all the way over to Monks, and I have nothing against Monks, stop in with Eileen and Vincent in New Quay (Lindane's), great Chow-dar, get some home made ice cream up the road, visit a martello tower and do what Heaney wrote so eloquently about, riding a bike along the Flaggy Shore. And Westlodge Hotel in Bantry has the worst !
