Ok here's the deal...The in laws have said they would get me and wifey a bike to bike set up for christmas.....U gotta love em!.....Father in law is a biker so we're on a winner already. He has a rider to pillion autocom on his K1200LT, so wants us to have a proper autocom system. I'm on a 650GS wifey on a 650CS. I need to have satnav, phone (has mp3 built in) and a PTT. Wifey needs phone (has mp3 built in) and PTT. Phones are Sony Ericsson W880i. Satnav is on my PDA so audio is just a standard 3.5mm jack. I have flip helmet wifey has closed.
Can you tell me EXACTLY what I ned to order for both of us, including radio's (not too expensive)
Thanks

I'm sure the guys at Autocom would happily tell you the exact setup that would fulfil your needs, and will do so to meet your budget limitations.

For inexpensive radios, many people seem to go for the Motorola jobbies that cost about £60 a pair, or thereabouts. You could perhaps pick up TK3101s on eBay, or even TK3107s (albeit they're not UK legal, and Autocom will tell you that they'll kill their kit - not that it's been a problem for any of the guys who use them in the groups I ride with, but none of them power the radios through the Autocom and all have battery replacement devices that allow the radios to be powered from the bike.) The TK3107s come from Hong Kong, and things seem to be legit. They seem to need reprogramming to work with the UK standard channel settings. Prices do vary: from 99p + postage (£23!) to £45 + postage. Sometimes you're lucky, and sometimes you're not!

Gotta be worth dropping Autocom an email to ask.

I am a huge fan of Autocom as well. A good plan would be to ride to the factory and get both professionally installed. Leave for home when it all works.
Another alternative if you just want to talk to each other (& not to other bikers) is the completely cordless bluetooth "Interphone" system - good for a range of 150m apparently. You might have to buy a Bluetooth tranmitter for the PDA if it is not already equipped.
