I know that it's possible to chrome plate stainless steel, but can any of you tosser recommend a plating company who could plate the Remus Stainless headers i have just purchased. (new)

I know what some of you might be thinking, but i prefer the finish of the chrome.

Why bother when it will just blue then tarnish?

If you take a polishing mop to them and use proper stainless steel polishing compound, eg.

http://www.cetempolishing.co.uk/

you will very quickly get a mirror finish that is barely distingushabe from the best chrome. It's cheap and will also cut back even the brown discolouration that develops over many winter miles. You can use it repeatedly as unlike chrome plate, the stainless is as thick as the pipe!

And then keep them washed with Wonder Wheels which seems to stop them discolouring surprisingly!

cheers,

Yup for sure.:thumb2

Also use it for shifting the brown discolouration before you get polishing. Don't let it get on anything else though like bare alloy or especially plated fasteners as it'll take them down to base metal in minutes.
