City Select V7 update woe

I don't think I'm normally this dim but I'm missing something somewhere. I recently purchased a Quest with V6.3 City Select which works fine.
Sent off and received V7 update discs. All installed without problem. Come to unlock wizard and go through the process but V7 maps not unlocked. Tried entering unlock codes from yellow slip from 6.3. Also tried retreived codes from Quest itself. No joy.
Should I be getting entirely new codes from somewhere and if so , where? I emailed Garmin support but no response after a few days.
I may find that I really am dim but I want my maps.
 
You have to get a new unlock code. Go here and follow the prompts. You'll need your original unlock code etc. from your yellow slip. When you're done they'll give you a new code right away.

I'd been to that page dozens of times but some how missed the obvious.
Anyway, I owe you a few MJS. Cheers.
 
The Unlock Wizard that runs during the install process should have gone out to Garmins website and generated and loaded the new unlock codes. You are not the first person that it has failed with. Personally, I prefer to just manually go to the unlock web page and manually enter them into MapSource.
