East Yorkshire is having a purge on bikes breaking the law, police all over on Saturday and rest of weekend this will go on all year. Black Hyabusa and R1.

I think you'll find this is region-wide. North Yorkshire Police are running Operation Anvil throughout the year. Research has been carried out to identify those roads with the high percentages of accidents, and they will be targetted. Not just for bikes but for cars as well. The whole of the Force has been tasked with it, not just Traffic.

The driving force behind it in so far as bikes are concerned is the high number of deaths and serious injuries sustained on the County's roads.

speeding

that sounds like a very heavy opperation. ANVIL? WE DIDENT NEED THE MOTO GP ON TODAY I JUST LISTEND TO ALL THE ROCKET SHIPS GOING OVER THE MOORS ROAD ,still it wont be long befor all the newley piled up gravel will be spread , on a very good note i will add that there was no sirens going over the moors to day ,:thumb2, that means no accidents :clap:clap:clap

There is a regional operation in play for the whole of the summer, this is being driven (pardon the pun) from South Yorkshire.
The aim of the operation is to promote safe riding and minimise casualties. this is not a heavy handed operation targetting bikers, except those that deserve it who blatantly and wilfully ride dangerously.
there is a national motorcycle enforcement strategy in place, and all forces should abide by that, it is freely available to view on the internet under the ACPO site.
South Yorkshire are runing a BMW K1200 and a Fireblade under the Bikesafe banner. Unlike other forces these are not enforcement tools, but a way of police motorcyclists being able to interact with Bikers to get across safe riding and promote Bikesafe.
I imagine what some may think of Bikesafe, but no-one is too old to learn
i was out last sunday and really enjoyed it with the exception of a frustrated Rossi wannabee on the A19 who wasn't good enough to pass on open roads, but did 70 through a 30. Is there any wonder police and public get fed up with bikes?
Safe riding, keep it the right side up
