Just want to say a big thanks to Clarks.

On Thursday on my way from Hull to Falmouth, I filled up on the M42 with diesel:blast. Got recovered to Clarks who got me sorted and back on the road to continue my journey, in double quick time and didnt make a drama out of a crisis.

Well done and thanks.

Just out of interest what did they have to do, was it just a case of emptying out the tank and flushing through? or is it more complex?

If I had not started the bike it would have been a simple job of draining the tank, but as I had started it it required flushing out the whole system including the injectors, it took about an hour and half, as I'm not technically minded I know no more than that.

I was just pleased that they got me on my way again and sorted me out quickly.

Worry not. I am the owner of a 2006 GSA that the previous owner filled with 33 litres of the finest French diesel on his way to a World Cup game in 2007. Tank drained, flushed out with petrol and new plugs fitted. Made (white) smoke for a while on start up.

It now has over 60,000 miles on the clock and is showing no signs of turning into a taxi.

It's a fair cop :thumb

I was actually on my way to the route Napoleon..... but ended up at the rugby world cup in Lens instead.

The smoke would have shamed a battleship. But, 90 litres of prime four stroke motion lotion later and it was all gone :D
