its a shame, coz there my local dealer, but its just like pullin teeth, ive dealt with balderston and wollaston(bought me gs from wollaston), and to be honest they couldnt help you enough, it must be like some sort of click up there

I only deal with Chris at Clarkes.
If he is not there a waste of time.
However, they have given me great service the last 3 years, difficult to go anywhere else as they are only 5 min's away. I have never bought a bike off them though. Also I find there bills for servicing very good. e.g 30000 mile service £173.00.
Conversely my mate lives in Stroud and always uses Clarkes, he to only deals with Chris................ and he has know BVM for years.
I think the workshop at Clarkes is 1st rate, but your right about the bulk of the staff................... not what I would call very customer focused, but as ever you will find good bad and indifferent

i did not think the place was still open the last time i was there was a few years back when Rover closed, he look like he was closeing down at the time

who remembers back in the late 70's and early 80s not 200 meters away out side the arcades loads and loads of bikes i never saw any in the 90's apart from the odd one ... i wonder what bikes he would have sold if he was open then ,if the Shell petrol satation was pulled down

Mixed experience last week - went in on Wednesday and ordered some parts, not in stock so arranged to have them posted to me. Unfortunately I had gone out early on Saturday and wasn't too far from there so 'phoned them up and was told they had arrived that morning. I asked them to hold on to the parts and not post them, rode over there, only to be told they had posted the parts out on Thursday - no apology or anything so won't be getting spares from there again. Arrived home to find parts had arrived that morning. So full marks for sourcing and delivering parts ,
bugger all for customer service

Service / parts / accessories guys always seem very helpfull

God I thought I was the only one too!! Bloody awful dealer! The only reason I use them is they are the only local place for miles (live in Brum) and I need to get the bike serviced weekdays on the way to work so further afield is a bit impractical.

Service bloke is ok and generally helpful but everyone else acts like you're disturbing them from something more important. Especially the bloke that worked on parts for a while - what a c**t!!! Really miserable, surly and frankly a bit chippy. Ballsed up a simple parts order, never called, nothin'.

I booked my bike in recently for a big service and wanted to test ride a new 800GS or the 2008 GSA as mine's near the end of the PCP agreement. In sales terms a wonderful opportunity to sell a bike. A decent salesmen would have been on the phone straight away and arranged everything. But no I've got to ring a few days before and arrange things on the off chance they might deign to let me ride one because "the demo bikes are very popular".

Are all BM dealers this indifferent?? Anyone recommend a good one that isn't 500 miles away? Who might treat me like a customer and try and sell me a bike? Or do I need to travel to Ocean in Devon and stay the night??!

Yes i do remember that.
As for Clarkes, I found there part exchange prices were well off the mark,i was offered £500 more on my 07,Triumph tiger by another dealer.
And the used bikes down stairs are very poorly presented.It doesnt take much effort to valet and present a bike smartly,first imperssions count.
I have only been to North Oxford BMW once but the sales manager was first rate and new his stuff,couldnt be more helpfull.
Shame they are a bit out of the way for me.
