So you’ve taken your pride and joy out on these white roads (white with salt and grit) and you get home and notice the front of the bike is also white and you image the salt eating away at the beautiful engine, what do you do?

1)Out with soapy water and hose pipe and spend the next few hours in the dark and cold cleaning the beast?
2)Quick spray over with the hose pipe?
3)A blast with WD40?
4)Or put it away and don’t worry, after all these bikes can go round the world…..twice?
5)Other?

I normally use option 2 during the week. Then, at the weekend, or if I have time, I will do the soapy water bit, clean down with cold water and dry off with a chamois. I wouldn't let it go much longer than a week if conditions are shitty though.

Guilty conscience!

If I had come back and noticed the beast was in a bit of a state I think depending on the time of day I would either clean it at the first opportunity or if it was late, a quick blast of WD40 in order to put my mind at rest although it probably does nothing!!

Or I could get the pressure washer out but its a bit of a pain having to thread hosepipes through windows etc...!

Or if its going to freeze over night I probably wouldn't touch it because I'd end up making the drive into an ice rink!

But whatever... it would bug me knowing it was covered in salt!

Have my bike valleted around April for 50 quid ride it through the summer with the odd wash in the sun around October it get's it's last was because it's a cold and horrible thing to do with no garage or drive with a hose.

Ride throught the winter come Febuary pluck up the motivation to give it a clean... think :GS:GS:GS:GS this bike looks shit with a brown engine and black wheels... and that's after the wash.

Around April ring the vallet man... he comes around calls be a bastard for setting him up to clean such a shitty bike at the end of the day it's back spotless cause the mans a perfectionist.

Other!

Left in a friends garage until suitable weather arrives.

So, I should be able to take the mileage from 8200km to 8400km this year! :D

It's so hard living in permafrost. For those who do ride in this cr*p, well done!:beerjug:
