After my introduction and a few questions, I thought I would share my ride (not sure if it's the right page)

So I bought a pretty rough looking 08 reg red and black gsa a couple of weeks ago.

I often have these moments of madness and should really listen to the wife and buy something I can ride straight away.

Anyway, after stripping the swinger off and the fd, I have given them a new lease of life, with a nice fresh coat of raptor truck bed paint. I'm ready for rebuilding now, new gaiters going on and a fresh squirt of grease. Question is, what grease? I have the moly 60 for prop shaft splines but what do you use on the uj's, also is granite grease OK for the bearings (swinger and fd).

Wow you dont mess about do you !
Must say I like the crinkly Black finish you have used.
Is this your first BM?
I ask because of the confident way you have set about the FD and swing arm

first gsa pal. im a tinkerer lol. i like taking things to bits and cleaning stuff. i also like building things, better that sitting watching crap on the tv.

Please keep us updated on this. Looking forward to seeing the end result!!

What's granite grease? Uj's I usually give a dose of spray grease just to keep the rust at bay. Moly 60's perfect for the splines. The pivot bearings I've always used normal lithium grease.
By the way. You need to pop into your local dealer an sort out the drive flange recall. Yours is the older one, New ones made of steel.

predictive text. meant graphite grease. getting it booked in soon as its back together. still got the fuel pump and brake line recall to have done too. need to do the fuel sender strip but bmw told me it will be cheaper because the labour will be offset against the pump recall.

Love predictive ;). Good man lookin good.

Ive had my bike sitting on its centre stand with both wheels off the ground. Amazing balance.

That paint looks cool. does it need a primer for aluminium?

I will let you know soon enough lol. Searched the Web and couldn't find anything.
