Cleaning engine fins

I need to clean between the engine fins on the HP2 in my quest to get it back to showroom condition (I think thats what they're called).

What are the best tools and cleaning products to do the job? It needs a good scrub in there, as I've tried spraying SDOC100 gel and hosing them off, but that did nothing.

And before all the predictable comments, yes I know it's a motorbike, and should be ridden not cleaned I'm looking for helpful posts not the usual piss taking bollocks

I've used cotton buds in the past..

Spray in cleaner.. rub with the cotton bud, hose out, then dry - repeat as required..

The two prong brush in this Oxford brush set is ideal for getting between the fins.

Instead of using the spray that comes with the SDoc100, decant a small amount into a pot and apply with a brush.

I find that the radiator brushes you can get from the pound stores are best as they have long handles and heads that are angled in various widths. Make sure you agitate it really well when applying. Leave it for 10 mins and then rinse.

So far I haven't had anything on any of my bikes that this method wouldn't remove, bar the dirt on the starter motor on my old Aprilia. That bit of the bike got really hot and the metal softened slightly meaning any muck got sort of embedded into it. I even had the bike done professionally and they couldn't get that bit clean either no matter how hard they tried.

Even if it doesn't get that particular muck off, at least you use far less doing it this way. I find the sprayer gets it everywhere except where you want and wastes about 80% of it, which isn't good given its price.
