I have a Rev It Sand Jacket and Trousers. Now possibly a schoolboy error, but I bought them in grey. I've used Grangers products for "washing" the garments, but they don't really do a great job. Is there a product or company that can get rid of the grime?

The recommended products are pretty useless for what you want.
Obviously (I hope) don't use detergent but find some soap flakes, Fairy Soap flakes works but don't know where you'll find it although there will be something similar.

I use soap flakes but dissolve them in hot water and pour the solution into the washing machine tray as the water's being drawn in, then rinse twice to make sure everything is out of the suit.
If it's pro-shell, tumble dry on warm setting (not hot).

Yes that's an important point, dissolve the soap flakes first :thumb

Then re proof it.

I washed my cream ,yes I know but it so cheap when the shop was closing down, Hein Gericke jacket with Nicwax Techwash on a low temperature wash. The jacket was quite grubby and I was very surprised to find the Techwash got it perfectly clean.

Lighter coloured kit I would wash it first with the likes of soap flakes ,then wash it with Nikwax wash and then do it with spray on reproofer.

Mind it still depends on how grubby the kit is , once our hi viz at work got ingrained that was it , it would never clean up properly and always look grubby

Thanks for replies. I was being a little generic with Grangers as I've used Nikwax as well. I might try a combo of dissolved soap flakes and some "elbow grease." The scrubbers link looks promising, thank you all.

I can recommend Lancashire Sport Repairs.
They have done some amazing repairs to rips and tears and replaced worn panels or tapes that were falling off ... etc etc ... for me over the years.
A really good service.
They are real experts.
