Recently had by discs replaced with EBC discs by a local garage. All well so far. However, just taken a look at how things are bedding in and noticed a slight score in the outer nearside disc. Upon closer inspection, there is hardly and space between the caliper and the disc on the outside but loads on the inside. There's enough space for the disc to clear the pad but crikey it's close. The off side appears to have an equal amount of space on both sides.

I've got spokes and ABS. Does anyone else have negligable clearances like this?

Once possible reason is that the near side has the ABS ring and extra washers. This and the fact that I've read somewhere that the EBC brakes are slightly thicker than standard.

Also noticed a spring washer missing from one of the disc bolts :(

Can't get the staff these days.

Got the sides mixed up but too late to edit the post - read this one instead:

Dont panic, I have a standard ABS bike with Alloys, the RH side (as you sit on the bike) has about 2mm clearance between the disk and caliper on the outboard side and about 5mm on the inboard side. The LH caliper is pretty much a mirror image but is slightly better centred due to the ABS ring.

The disk trajectory is fixed, as are the calipers so there is no chance of contact regardless of wear.

The EBC discs are thicker (about 0.5mm?) than the OE ones, but I've not had any problems with them. I reckon the score you have could have been caused by a small stone getting trapped between disc and caliper.
