My 53 Plate ADV was delivered today and I have found this problem. Every time the ignition is turne off the Time Clock resets itself to 00.00 Any one got any ideas?

You haven't got a HID unit fitted near by have you? That happened to me but just moved it and then fine.

Thanks for the replies as always. I initially thought battery and then remembered that when it happened on my last one 15 miles to work and it was fine untill the next long stand. I will check fuses later, but that would seem a good alternative, something to do with memory?

i've had this problem with my 1150 and assumed that the alarm system drains the battery more than i thought so went out and bought a battery trickle charger optimate type thing in fact i bought a ring item less than 20 quid and hey presto end of problem just have to remember to unplug it each time i get the bike out

Does that not reinforce the battery theory? The ride to work put a tiny bit of juice back into the battery, enough to keep the clock happy, but after standing for longer it died?

I had exactly the same thing on my 1100, it disappeared never (yet) to reappear when I changed the battery.

clock re-sets to 00:00

... and of course, if you never fix it, just look on the bright side - you have one of the few R11XXGSs with a trip timer..!

Fuse 3. Just replaced it AGAIN after the poxy bmw heated vest plug shorted on me. Aux socket and clock housekeeping power share this fuse.

Same Problem Still !

Hi,
I still have the same problem as you, the fuse is fine so last night did a brief wiring check. On mine I have power out of fuse 3 to the aux sockets and up to the clock but by the time it reaches the large Rider Display connector in under the tank, no power.
I put a live feed and an earth from here to the rider display clock and bingo, clock works. I will try and explore further this weekend.
If all else fails I will run a live feed from the aux socket direct to the Rider Display Connector under the tank and power it up that way.
