The last few days I've powered the PC on in the morning and the clock has lost a few hours.
I go into control panel and reset it but anyone know why is it losing this time please ?
Thanks very much.

That usually a sign that the small battery on the motherboard is failing, I've not replaced one before but I understand it can be done.

sounds like that is the problem. easy enough to change, but you might lose some settings.

Motherboard battery

Removing the battery (it is flat and a bit smaller than a 10p piece) will reset the Bios back to default settings.

If you don't know what I am talking about then best talk to your geek friend.

Bios Settings

I am hazarding a guess that you haven't messed with the default bios settings anyway so swapping the battery will make no difference. I've done it many times in the past with no problems whatsoever.

Tesco sell the flat 10p sized batteries

Thanks for the replies people.
No Tesco's over in la belle France I'm afraid but I've found I need a CR 2032 battery and I suspect / hope our local supermarket sells them.
