Hello

My name is Franco, I live in Chile.

I'm coming to you because of a problem I have with my brother's F800GS motorcycle

Let me tell you, he has the problem that when he turns off the bike the watch is always on, and he disassembled the instrument panel to check and in some places it looked sulfated, it was cleaned but still the problem persists.
As an additional piece of information, when I start the bike and want to change the time, it always takes me to the FLASH ON-OFF section.

Any idea of what might be or should be changed?

Thank you very much for watching and commenting and sorry my English I still don't learn very well hehe.

Your English is better than mine and i I’m English!!
i have never seen the message saying ‘Flash’ on the display. That’s weird. It Feef definitely seems like something on the PCB. Have you tried disconnecting the battery for a few minutes?

Hello.

Thanks for the compliment haha, but it's thanks to translator.
Yes, I disconnected the battery and also disconnected the connector from the instrument panel for 40-50 minutes, and the problem persists.

What I've observed about the PCB, when you tap on the buttons, specifically to change the clock, it heats up. Since I don't specialize in electronics, I can't tell which component is failing.

In my country Chile the instrument panel is about 1200 USD new so I wanted to see how to repair it... But I couldn't haha

Thanks for commenting.

I also had an issue with my clock in that it only worked even the bike was running. I took the PCB to a television repair shop and they changed two components - total cost less than £20. Cost to replace the whole unit from BMW £2000!!

Maybe you can find someone locally who is prepared to check it out for you. A PCB is a PCB and they are used in many household items.
Good luck.

Hello.

You may be right, I'll have to look for another alternative apparently, although I don't know any electronic repair shops in my area

You could also buy a used unit, although the cost would still be high.

I'll look for an electronics repair shop before anything else.

Thanks a lot.
