The ubiquitous channel tunnel photo ...

(Wet cambered cobbles were bloody hard work with a pillion and a weeks worth of Rosy's luggage .. :blast)

Rain ...

Where we had a truly excellent Tunisian meal followed by a flash waiter pouring mint tea 5 feet away from the cup ...

Day two sees better weather, and we head off to BernKastel on the River Meuse.

Bernkastel itself is quite charming - a pretty town nestled amongst the miles and miles of mosel vineyards. It's a good stop for a couple of days.

Day three gave us the chance to nip over for an evening lap of the Nurburgring.

<a href="https://gileslamb.smugmug.com/Germany/i-t3N42Dv/A"><img src="https://photos.smugmug.com/Germany/i-t3N42Dv/0/X2/hols3-X2.jpg" alt=""></a>

Wandering around the carpark saw a plethora of nice vehicles from hot hatches to classics to some serious petrol heads.

(This M1 was probably my favourite - I had a long chat with 'Marcus' the owner, it was his toy. He was a businessman in his 40's I'd guess, the car was kitted out with a roll cage and looked absolutely gorgeous in the flesh .. )

Not everyones experience at the Nurburgring is a happy one! It can be a deceptive place that can bite back in the blink of an eye ... !

Day four was a trip back to France where Rapid Training were hosting their annual Track day at Folembray. A great little circuit hidden in the middle on nowhere. It's fair to say that Cato is no track bike. With it's skinny 21/90/90 front it doesn't exactly inspire confidence at big lean angle and I was properly trounced by some very good riders. (Quickest bloke of the day was Bike Journo John Westlake on a ZX10 !!)

<a href="https://gileslamb.smugmug.com/Germany/i-XV5tVk5/A"><img src="https://photos.smugmug.com/Germany/i-XV5tVk5/0/L/hols7-L.jpg" alt=""></a>

(Gary Baldwin, your boss of Rapid Training..)

And finally on to Honfleur, another very pretty town that is well worth spending a couple of days in.

Sunday Morning saw a small market spring up;

I thought fondly of the Gay harley boys in the Gnarly Bar and bought a bell for the back door at home .. !

And that ..... is it!!

:thumb2

Good one Giles :thumb

.... and I accept your apology for the quality of the photographs :D

:beerjug:

Thanks Giles, I enjoyed that. The only thing I'm left wondering about is Rosy's arse. Well, more accurately that bit on her leathers that looks as if it might be a coccyx protector. Is that fitted onto her leather trousers and if so, what make are they? </>kit geek. :)

I can't tell the I phone photos from the Fuji ones :D

Rosie looks well though :beerjug:

Giles - Nice one, a good short ride report where the pictures tell the story. Looks like a top trip. Might even post one of ours at end of August, most of our photos will make yours look so much better:D

Schtum ... The leathers are 'lady rider' (!!) by Frank Thomas ...

Ahh, I see it now, it's on the outside, I thought she ha a hole in them....

Nice posh Klim anorak with army surplus overtrousers ... does she have to combine a couple more b'day/xmas's to get a full set?

Some half decent scenic shots in there by the way. :thumb2

Hey ... Nothing wrong with army surplus over trousers ! £20 a throw, gortex, and you can roll 'em up into something the size of a baguette and lob them in the top box .. !

One more from ... Vianden ...
