2014 bike (700 miles), first service done, and although a bit loud (clunk/lunge) into 1st and a bit clunky into 2nd, not much different to 2012 oilhead really. Finding neutral not an issue.
I always leave bike in gear and to move it round garage yesterday, I pulled clutch in but rear wheel wouldn't rotate. Put on center stand and started up. In first gear pulling in clutch does not stop wheel rotating, quite quickly. Could not stop with pressure from my foot. In second gear etc. pulling in clutch stops wheel rotating. Is this normal do you think with a wet clutch or an issue?
Off to dealer, Williams in Manchester, this morning to see what they reckon and see "if they all do this".
If it stops when hot then fine but if not then surely this could be the cause of the clunk/ lunge into 1st!

What is really scary is my next door neighbour who appears to know nothing about bikes but is quite well connected in the car sales world asked this morning if I was having any issues with the gearbox or clutch as "I have heard there is a problem with those things!"

So far mine is OK but i do blip on the down change as a habit of 45 years of riding bikes so maybe I just don't notice it...

IF the clutch plates have warped they will not disengage fully. You should ask the dealer to check and see if the plates are blue.....evidence of heat that leads to warping. Ask for a phone photo.

FWIW the other day when I took my 14 GSA out I checked the clutch as follows on the center stand.

Cold; idling in neutral clutch in or out rear wheel didn't turn.
Cold; idling in neutral, pull clutch in and put in first (no clunk), wheel remained stationary.

Warmed up after riding 15 miles.

Idling in neutral clutch in or out wheel didn't turn.
Idling in neutral, pull clutch in and put in first (clunk), wheel turned slowly for a second or two then stopped.

I had exactly same issue as Tinpot. with clutch in and first gear engaged my wheel was spinning constantly at 6mph and wouldn't easily stop. I tried stopping it by foot and it worked but it was quite violent. Sent bikr to dealer and got clutch and pushrod replaced and clutch doesn't catch anymore but I think I'm having problems shifting from 1st to 2nd and when I miss 2nd gear and end up in neutral, shifting to 2nd while still rolling is with massive clonk- can definitely feel it on gear lever! I was told at dealers that it's not final fix for my bike... so I'll probably wait for them to sort out this issue and then I come back to report issue again...

In first, clutch drag............... makes a handy brake for rolling it down my steepish garage entrance..:thumb :D
