Nearly made the mistake of putting DOT4 in the clutch master cylinder, but fortunately looked up Vitamol on t'internet and quickly realised the two are totally incompatible.

Question is, am I safe adding LMH (as intended for Les Citroen - that's the plural of French make of car, not a bloke) to the Vitamol that remains in the system, seeing as I can't find an independant supplier of Vitamol (I assume BMW dealers will be able to supply, but I want to pay a price appropriate to 500 ml of clutch fluid, as opposed to a complete new clutch).....

Have a look at this link

On the face of it , it seems you cannot mix them.

However why not follow this link

Chose the product and then look at the safety data sheet for info. Then compare the characteristics with Citroen LHM.

As a last resort you could always e mail / phone the original manufacturer and ask them to identify the equivalent product from other manufacturers

Sorry I cant give a definitive yes or no, hope the info helps.:thumb

Use the proper stuff or fannying around could cost you considerably more! Plus remember that it needs an airgap for expansion purposes

Weren't you lucky that you asked? :aidan:aidan:aidan

Thanks Jaythro and Gizmo. I'll ask Motor Works to add a bottle of V10 to the package of new and second hand parts they're about to send me - all this relates to the bike recently being declared a Cat D write-off and my subsequent rebuild of the written off machine
