I've been trying to find out why the clutch doesn't disengage when you pull the lever in - Bike had drive, and seemed all ok, no "funny" noises and everything felt OK.
Not the slave cylinder, nor the master cylinder, clutch pushrod all ok, so thought it must be the clutch diaphram spring, which means the gearbox out ( which is what i was trying to out off as a last resort).
Now this clutch was replaced under warranty by a main dealer less than 20K miles ago-
So when the gearbox came out, this is what i found.

The friction material on one side had been completely shredded, and the other side was rattling around on the rivetts .
I think they may have just cleaned off the oil from the original clutch, and re-used it
I've never seen a clutch like this before - and it still had drive , with no noises .
This is the friction material completely gone, just the backing plate left

And this is the other side of the plate, friction material just hanging on the rivetts.
