Don't know if anybody has experienced this or has any words of wisdom.

A week before its 6000mile service the clutch on my 2015 GS has developed a problem with clutch when the engines cold. The lever has no feeling (its light already) and the biting point has been getting progressively closer to the bar. On the way back from work this evening it wouldn't even disengage the clutch, every time I dropped it into first the bike stalled. If I pump the lever a few times things improve for a minute or so. When the bike warms up it is back to a consistent biting point.

Feels a bit like there's air in the clutch line but it seems strange that there's only a problem when its cold.

Get it straight back to the dealer.

Tried to get them to look at it last week but was told they were fully booked. Its in for the service on Thursday so decided to let them look at it then.

Sounds like it has air in the circuit and could use a bleed. Why it has happened I have no idea though. I assume the fluid level is OK and it isn't leaking.

I had the same problem as you on my GSA earlier this year. My dealer replaced the clutch slave cylinder under warranty and that fixed it so yes get it booked in. A couple of others on here have had the same problem....

Not in the least abusive!! ... it advised the guy to get his bike recovered using BMW emergency assist ...no point in risking a clutch failure and all the potential issues with that
etc ....plus BMW should have had the bike straight in, being booked up doesn't help him with ... clearly its still under warranty....so have it recovered in , the dealer then has to at least look at it within 24 hrs .... Sorry if this against protocol but i worked in game and had he spoken to me on the service desk that would have been my advice !!!

Appreciate the advice.

my 2015 gs te went in for its 6k service last month and had a clutch slave replaced as part of a recall,i had no issues with it but the techs told me bmw are changing them as a matter of course,i had a little difficulty in pinning him down on exactly what the issue potentially is,he said that the hose may rub against something or other...

Just out of interest if it is the slave cylinder , was it a big job. If it needs to go back to the dealer after the service I'm going to struggle to find the time off with work for a few weeks.

I don't know how long it took to do the work as i left my bike with the dealer while they got a new part and then fitted it. In the mean time i had a loan bike.

My advice exactly as they have to turn the bike around in 48 or 24 hrs or offer an alternative as far as I know.
Good advice Andy
