Took the clutch pushrod out to see if I could find the source of the oil leak I had when I originally rode the bike home.

I found a small circular spring on the clutch pushrod, typical of the type you find on the internal bore of an oil seal.

Not familiar with the seal set-up and haven't got a gearbox schematic but it looks like the rear push rod seal has gone inside the gearbox.

The circular spring is sitting on the push rod shaft right up against the forward face of item 15.
Any thoughts

Thats a flimsy little seal Paul but to get at it you are probably going to need the end cover removing from the gearbox.

I was never one to hold back with the good news :D

If you want to make a day out of it bring the gearbox over and we'll rebuild it, reshim it and fit a new seal at the same time. At least you will know it's all ok. I've got a full set of bearings if you need any.

Aren't they just . . :blast . . I've ruined a couple trying to carefully insert them into the end of the Input shaft. I now buy two for every one I need - and they ain't cheap :D :D :D.

Nowadays I carefully clean out the seal housing with a carbide burr to ensure there is just clean metal in there.

Good offer, Rob :thumb

Well thanks to Mr Farmer of the Loughbourough parish I'm all sorted.
