Had the clutch changed about 1 month ago now. I've done nearly 600 miles on the new clutch. Recently started to get a screeching noise when I pull the clutch in. Doesn't happen with the leaver fully out, or fully in. Its just as you start to put pressure on the clutch leaver. Question im asking is does the end of the push rod have any splines or anything or is it just a plane end? And does it need lubrication before its put back in? Also does the felt seal on the pushrod need to be lubricated or is that dry?

Sound like bearing on way out , what bike is it ? No spline on push rod and lube on felt

2 bikes , twice is happy

What model of bike is it ? 1100 or 1150? they have different clutch operating mechanisms.

Sorry its the r1150gs. No bearings on the clutch as such. The paralever bearings, swing arm bearings, bevel gear bearings and a few others where replaced

Clutch Slave Cylinder

It's the small bearing in the piston of the clutch slave cylinder - when it fails it lets the pushrod rotate the slave piston and wrecks the piston and bore.
New slave cylinder assembly is required - not too bad a job, as long as you have a long series ball-end 5mm allen key:thumb

Before installing the new slave add some grease to the little bearing. The come chronically under greased from BMW.
A good HiTemp wheel bearing grease is good.
If you repeat this every 70-80,000 km the slave will last a long time.
My original is @315,000km on my '00GS
