doing the clutch at the weekend.
Does it matter about what positions the little paint blobs are at when putting the new assembley in?
Just thought id ask before i start:thumb

No.
Apparently the plates are balanced at manufacture.

Thats correct -

Think about it .

If you had to fit the plates evenly spaced as a unit, it means each plate wouldn't be balanced. But how do they balance the weight of each plate to be used as unit if they don't know which plate it's going to be used in conjuction with when assembled.

i.e. if the "dot" represents the heaviest part of that clutch item, just spacing the different plates out evenly wouldn't even out any weight/balance. Because they're aren't matched as a set. -

They're individually balanced, so you can replace just one item if need be.
Look at each plate/cover, and you'll see different machining holes where each plate has been balanced.

I take my hat off to you steppers, i know it's your job, but your knowledge is superb. Ive got to the stage where i miss postings to where i see your posting, then i read:D
